ANXIETY AVOIDANCE FEAR

Anxiety avoidance fear

Stress is an unavoidable fact of life but when hassles and demands of daily living become more than you can handle, stress can become overwhelming triggering fear avoidance and physical conditions like heart disease, insulin insensitivity and autoimmune diseases.

We use a combination of methods to calm and soothe body and spirit, including:

  • progressive muscle relaxation
  • mindfulness based relaxation
  • shifting to more logical thinking
  • lifestyle adjustments: nutritional counseling, becoming more physically active
  • yoga stretching: centuries old simple postures that help reduce tension and help integrate your emotions
  • walk and talk which includes mindful walking focusing on letting go of tension and negative thinking that fuel fear and worry- “forest bathing”
  • referral to a psychiatrist for antianxiety or mood medication as needed
